As a first time visitor, the vaults will wow you. Definitely go out of your way to visit. The decor is unique, the very fabric of the building is intriguing, the staff will be keen for you to find your new favourite beer or gin, the snacks and pies that accompany your beer or gin will be superb. You'll wonder how other establishments in Devizes manage to compete and in time, you'll realise that they don't... Memorable though your first visit will be, to visit the vaults only once is to miss the true spirit of excellence that makes the place hum. Return, time and again, introduce new friends to your favourite watering hole, get on first name terms with the staff. Keep coming back, sometimes with pals, sometimes with family. Posters for events pique your interest, games nights are definitely the best mid-week fun you can have. Feel genuinely welcome when you pick up the conversation you left in your last empty pint glass.Every visit there will be something new to try, half of the excitement will come from the as-yet untasted beverage, the other half comes from Brian's boundless enthusiasm for his job.The only shame about the vaults is that I don't live within walking distance. Despite this, I'll go just for a soft drink to enjoy being there and drive home again. If you can only drink in one place in Devizes you drink here. If you can only drink in two places in Devizes, drink here then go to the British lion, then come back to The Vaults.
Best pub in town, friendly atmosphere and few kids in there, clientele tends to be 30 years old or more. Amazing range of tinned and bottled ales from around the world plus six hand pumps on the bar and four keg pumps. The pub is the tap for the " Stealth Brewery" and at least one of their ales is usually on. Beers change all the time. Great range of bar nibbles and the pies are to die for. No juke box, no fruit machines, just good old fashioned banter.
Tried some beers, some were ew, some were ooh, definitely unique drinks, delicious mango and lime cider though! Super friendly staff, looks like it could be a well thriving pub. Shame it's tucked away in such a small spot.
